FAQ

  • What is RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy)?
RTT® is a pioneering therapy developed by world-renowned therapist, Marisa Peer. Based on neuroscience. It has the potential to offer fast, effective results by combining the most beneficial principles of Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy, Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). RTT® can deliver extraordinary change from physical, emotional, and psychological pain by reframing our core beliefs, values, habits, and emotions deep in the subconscious. By rapidly rewiring the brain’s neural pathways, RTT® replaces our out-dated belief systems and negative behavior patterns. New life-affirming beliefs are formed, and the transformational process begins.
  • How does RTT® work?
RTT® utilises the neuroplasticity of the brain and sub-conscious mind to easily change old patterns of thinking and behaving and allow more positive ones to be embedded. Your sub-conscious mind knows exactly the cause of your issues – which is what we work with through a dialogue during the session. Everyone experiences an RTT® session in their own way. Some feel like they are floating, others do not have that sensation. In any case, you will feel relaxed. And whatever the way you experience it, it works.
  • What will I experience?
During the RTT® process you will be diving into scenes but not relive the scenes, ‘simply’ reviewing the scenes to see how they have affected you. Many clients are surprised, as they go back to scenes that are totally different from what they expected. Whatever comes up, remember that you have already dealt with it. You are only reviewing important scenes to understand how they have affected you; i.e. the meaning that you have attach to those events. Sometimes it happens that someone goes back to painful, half-forgotten memories related to traumatic experiences such as emotional or physical abuse. The most important thing in that case - for which the therapist will guide you - is to realize that you have already gone through that difficult experience, you now ‘just’ review the memory, in a safe environment. You don't relive it, but you can see it so that you can heal and finally let go of the issue so that it no longer holds any power over you.
  • Is RTT® the same as Hypnotherapy?
RTT® uses Hypnotherapy as a tool to access the subconscious mind in the first part of the process, to discover the root cause of your issue. RTT® then adds other tools and healing methods to trigger neuroplastic changes, leading to transformation and ‘recoding’ of outdated, dysfunctional programs .
  • What is Hypnosis then?
Hypnosis is a natural, relaxing state of inward focus, clinically proven to provide medical and therapeutic benefits.
  • Can I get stuck in Hypnosis?
No, this is not possible. In fact, most people do not feel really different to normal; just relaxed but able to speak, move, hear and respond. In case you would feel extremely relaxed, you could drift into sleep, but wake up again as you would usually do and return to an alert waking state and your normal routine.
  • Is Hypnosis safe, including online?
Totally. You will remain in control at all times. You will feel deeply relaxed but alert, able to verbally respond with ease and to come out of the process at any stage if you wish to. Experiences have shown consistently that both contexts (online or in person sessions) work equally well with profound benefit for the client. Some clients prefer the comfort of their own home whilst others prefer direct contact – you chose what is right for you depending on the availability of the therapist in the area where you are living or traveling to. If for instance we could meet with me for a first in person, then we could organize follow-up calls (to assess the progress) and if necessary, another session, online, at your best convenience.
  • Can RTT® help me?
It most certainly can! RTT® has shown to be highly successful in treating Eating Disorders, Addictions, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Panic Attacks, Phobias, Anxiety, Depression, Confidence, Relationship or fertility issues, Grief, Physical Ailments, and many other debilitating pain or conditions. The success of the Marisa Peer Method is the result of the client and therapist working together to uncover the meaning and interpretation of events and then changing them. This leads to powerful permanent change as long as the client is 100% committed to wanting to break free from their limiting belief system, open to engage with the therapist and to ready for meaningful positive change.
  • How many sessions will I need?
RTT® was developed to work quickly and avoid the need for continuous sessions. Often only 2-max 3 sessions are needed, depending on the person and the issue. Many isues can actually be successfully addressed in one session (e.g. fear of flying, smoking, public speaking). However, long standing issues that can lead to severe eating disorders, depression or bipolarity, or complex post-traumatic stress disorder related to several types of abuse may require 3 or (less frequently) more sessions. What is also possible is that the client, after solving one issue in 1 to 3 sessions (e.g. drinking addiction), may wish to pursue the process to solve another presenting issue (weight management).
  • How quickly will I see the results?
Results appear in 3 stages in RTT® and depend entirely on the individual and issue addressed. Those can be: “Immediate” – when you begin to experience profound shifts as early as during and right after the session); “Gradual” – when you experience shifts in your thinking and behaving gradually over time; or “Retrospective” - when change is not obvious straight away, but slightly later, you reflect on how you used to behave or feel and realize that a deep transformation has taken place in your life.
